Picked up ARP's part number 123-4003 head studs and tried to install them on my '84 hot air Buick, but the head studs were too long. Is there a specific part number for the correct studs or is user error?

engine is missing chunk above cam going into the oil pump from the galley looks cleanly broken mod or new block old owner had the engine rebuilt once

i have an 84 hot air the old ownr had the car rebuilt once i blew a head gasket and during tear down found a piece of my block was missing above my cam in the valley i ran a wire it goes into the oil pump is this a mod or did some one break the block and leave it i have pics having trouble posting
