  • Hi Bison , Tony from Branford, Ct here. We emailed a little while ago, I would like to bring my '87 GN in for a diagnosis/repair. Its drivable but barley, breaking up under hard acceleration. I thinks its the maf. Can you tell me how to set this up, I would probably have it towed, I don't want to risk the drive.     hi bison ive been told u r the guru for gn. so I was wondering if u culd assist me wit converting my 85 to intercooled using a ta44 turbo or at the very least point me in the right direction. thanks chris
    Hi. It was recommended that you might be able to steer me in the right direction. I'm looking for a legit good machine shop that hopefully can salvage my motor. My motor was a rebuild and the shop screwed up big time. I'm in CT also. Let me know the most convenient way to contact you. Thanks, Andy
    Hi Bison don't know who to turn to besides you and RUQWK (but he has been missing in action for a while) I was wondering if you had access ( or know someone who has) to a t3 footprint divided turbine housing with a 3" V-band outlet...
    A/R can be in the range of .8 - 1.00A/r (max)...
    I happen to have seen one from AGP, but upon asking have not received a response...so perhaps that is a last resort...

    Hey! I'm not sure if you recall my post about having the wrong turbine housing on my Garrett turbo, but I was wondering if you had a ballpark estimate of what it would cost to have you replace the housing with a proper one and possibly add a billet compressor wheel? Depending on your schedule, if the price is right, I am ready to pull the trigger.
    I need a turbo ,just got the engine back from machine shop,new stock crank,studded mains rods and heads,mild upgraded cam, forged pistons ,8.0 compression, injectors or chip not picked yet .has stock convertor now .I am looking for longevity and reliability over hp but want more than stock
    Trying to send you a couple pics of the downpipe gasket you told me to pull off my GN Fri at Buschur's. Can't figure out how to attach though. No separation or burn thru spots that would leave a gap between the dp and turbo. Still raining, so no testing. Wondering if that caused my boost and afr to drop once I hit 3rd or if it was something else. Nice to meet you and thanks for taking a look. Ryan
    CONTINUED- THE ONLY WAY I GOT FIRE TO COIL IS IF I BARELY TURN THE KEY AND LET IT GO.THE CAR STARTED A COUPLE OF TIMES BYDOING THAT BUT IS GETTING MUCH HARDER NOW. MY SUNPRO TACH IS JUMPING AROUND EVEN UNDER LIGHT THROTTLE. I REPLACED CRANK SENSOR BUT DIDNT HELP. PLEASE POINTME IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION. THANKS ALOT
    . Well today I was driving it and all of a sudden it cut off while I was riding 45 mph. I quickly put it in neutral and restart it. NOW all of a sudden I cut the car off when I make it home and tried to restart and I get nothing but the engine turning . I checked the coil pack for fire and there was none as long as the key ignition was turned all the way forward.
    Hi. I had a guy get a hold of u for a turbo his name is Mitchell eismont. He wanted a 6265 and u were out of stock. I was wondering if u had anything else close to that like a 6262 or 6266 .

    He is look for something he can grow into being this car is stock head and cam And may up grade those in the future.     I was told you had a header panel for a '86 Grand National. I am looking for one. Do you have one, if you do how much & could you post a picture of it?
    Good morning, looks like I will need to get my current turbo rebuilt. I believe it it a TE60. Has shaft play but has not damaged impeller or housing (yet)
    Any idea what it will cost to rebuild it? thanks, Dan
    Hey bison....I've heard you're the guy to talk to bout turbos for my gn! I had a pt52,that seemed great! I've got 60#injectors n turbo tweak chip would like to get around a 10.8 quarter mile! Any suggestions on a reasonable turbo quick spooling and not too costly? Also heard you can build them!
    bison ,need some help. i am rebuild my motor porting stock heads and intake, cam not sure what one I have ptc 2800 converter ,60 injec. 3 down pipe tt chip my problem is my turbo has a lot of side to side play in the shaft its a ta 49 is it worth a rebuild or should I upgrade with these mods looking for mid 11s low boost . can you rebuild this or get me a what I need thanks my # 865-237-3509 charlie
    Would like your recommendation on new roller cam specs for street driven GN. Has the supporting parts for 11's. Currently using a PTC converter from Dusty recommendation. 61 mm turbo. 65 LB motronics. Cleaned up heads and intake. Etc.
    Looking for a very responsive street car not a track car. Was looking at something like the 206 210 cam kits or maybe 210 215.
