if this is the case, look at it this way. some people take 5-10 years to blow their fist motor, you did it in four days!!. be proud. build it right and there is not a faster street car. hope i didnt piss you off. no flames intended

are we getting the whole story??? i also bought my gn when i was 16, i still remember the first week i drove it and i am still amazed it suvived. i was very, very hard on the car when i first got it. won a lot of races and burned a lot of tires.

86 gn, my brake pedal recently began pulsating when stopped at a light. (in gear stopped). and yes it does still have the original pm unit. any ideas???

mine locks up at 30 and takes at least 1/2 thottle to dissengage. like i said i drive up hills with brakes applied. so there is no other way to deley tcc lock up??? i really dont want to operate it with a manual swith.

like ESl said i would check the exhaust side of the turbo for oil contamination. mine would not smoke until it warmed up. found lots of oil in the elbow and downpipe, cat was plugged too. bolted on a new turbo , problem solved

YES, bad turbo seal will cause smoke. if you have lots of play in the shaft its time for rebuild/upgrade.

Are there any "tricks" to getting the carrier bearings off?? local machine shop tells me they couldn't touch it till monday. anyone had luck "splitting" the old bearing and pressing a new one on with a socket????

how much play is acceptable in the output shaft?? i am trying to track down a grinding noise. pulled the shaft and grabbed the splines, it has lots of play to it. how hard is a bearing change??? thanks
