    losing fuel pressure

However, if you have experienced this same issue with two different fuel pumps, the root cause is likely not the fuel pump.

    losing fuel pressure

Not vapor lock in the pressurized fuel line necessarily, I am talking about fuel vaporizing right at the point that it enters the pump in the tank. If it is 100f+ and you are circulating fuel up to the hot engine and back at a high rate, pretty soon the fuel will get extremely hot, the pump...

    losing fuel pressure

With the issue happening after a half hour or so of running fine, and then running fine after you cool it off for awhile; it really sounds like the fuel is getting hot and vaporizing. Is it happening moreso when you are running at low levels of fuel in the tank, less than 1/4? How hot is it...

Are Walbro pumps now trouble free?

KevinB, TI Automotive does not endorse modifying the OPR function, it is a safety feature, so I have to leave this one alone. Although, you don't need to look very hard to find out how to do it

Are Walbro pumps now trouble free?

The over pressure relief's are indeed being modified by folks, but it will only affect flow if you are running over approx 60psi fuel pressure. I don't think you hear about it on TB because you guys don't run that high, so it makes no difference for you. This is a safety feature, in the event...

Are Walbro pumps now trouble free?

The manufacturing date code on the pump shell is the 5 digit # below the p/n F20000169. The date code range problem area for this particular pump is between 17507-1 and 30508-1 (The 175th day of 2007 and the 305th day of 2008; the number after the dash is the shift).

Are Walbro pumps now trouble free?

You can't test the pump for this issue, it was either built with the bad component or not, so the build date code stamped on the shell is how you can tell. When I get in the office Monday I will post the definitive date code timeframe. Send me an email at: aftermarket@tiauto.com and we will...

    New Walbro performance fuel pumps

Our testing on our new DCSS 39/50HP in-tank fuel pump is nearing completion. The pump's basic design has been in OE production since 2004, and is used on several current high performance production vehicles. We will also be releasing a true E85 protected version that is used on several current...

    Fuel pump question

If you are running a Walbro, the gerotor style pumps are admittedly not the quietest pumps; however you can limit the noise greatly if you install with a rubber grommet/sleeve and avoid direct pump shell contact with other plastic/metal components on your module. This will reduce vibrational...

Aeromotive 340 Stealth Fuel Pump. Anyone use one yet?

Sounds like the check valve on the pump isn't holding pressure properly. I suggest you put your Walbro back in and see if that fixes it

Are Walbro pumps now trouble free?

The new policy is in the draft phase, I honestly can't say when it will be officially rolled out, or what the parameters will end up being. There is much room for improvement over the current situation. Off the record, it should grandfather in current/past purchases for the timeframe that ends...

Are Walbro pumps now trouble free?

Hi TurboBuick, My name is Matt Monroe, I am the new sales manager at TI Automotive over the Walbro product line as of July 2010. At the risk of being publicly flogged by TB, I felt that I needed to respond to this issue. I can't say anything that can erase or make up for the past decisions...
