00 Grand Am Trans question

My DD is almost at 100,000 miles and I was thinking about changing the fluid and filter,has anyone done this? How much fluid does it hold.

It's a 2.4l automatic.

Newer ones just get the flush. If you have any leaks fix them yourself and take it straight to the shop to get flushed or be messy and do it yourself. If you are concerned about it you can pop a hose off to see how nasty the fluid actually is. Mine hasn't darkened a bit nor has a smell with 135k on it (3.4). Not that I'm saying its ok to let the fluid go so long but if you don't have the cash no big deal. We don't ever beat on the car except for the occasional dumb ass that won't get over when we are getting on the highway. Not saying the car is beautiful but its the family car/road trip so probably AT LEAST 1/3 of the miles are all highway.
