Do you think I'm asking for trouble if I have the stock unopened motor and stock heads with 110 unleaded? I figure as long as my o2's are above 770 with no knock, I'll be O.K. Check my sig if anyone has ?'s about any other mods. I know these injectors are done around 11.50's or so and I know I'm not close to that, so I think everything will be fine. Just wanted to hear some opinions before I run next week. I'll keep everyone updated on how it goes. Thanks.

At 20 psi I think you'll be fine...But why when you can run so much more boost?? Get some 60's and get it over with...or a least some 50's.

Right now I don't want to run too much boost and risk screwing something up inside the motor. I'm just trying to play it as safe as possible and still have some fun. As for the injectors, they only have about 1,000 miles on them so I might as well use them for as long as I can. I am considering an alky kit anyway, so the 009's might be o.k. when I decide to take the next step. What kind of 1/4 times should I expect at 20 psi? I'm thinking 13.5 with the stock converter.

FWIW & IMHO,

There is plenty of fuel left in the 009's at that point. Most recently we had a "bolt-on" car run 11.45 @ 118.97mph with 24psi boost and there was still fuel left to play with using the 009's.

The fastest car we had using 009's went 11.01 @ 122mph.

If you're not making enough horsepower to go that fast keep what you have.

Should be very low 12's with 20psi. The 11.45 car I mentioned above went 12.1x or something like that, the pass prior with 14psi boost.

12's??

12's would be nice, but I don't think it'll happen with the stock converter. If I run that good, I'll call it a day and go celebrate! Just had the car out a little while ago and it spools really slow. Man I need that 3200 converter. Anyone have one I can borrow, just kidding.

Even with the stock D-5 converter you should run deep into the low 12's. Plenty of us have done it with fewer modifications than you have.

Yeah, the stock converter doesn't like the PTE .63 too good. I always use a Garrett .63 when running the D-5.

Thanks for the confidence boost NCTURBOS. I need it. I still haven't seen even a 13 sec time slip due to crappy 60 fts. but I haven't ran this turbo yet. I'll keep you updated. Running at Cecil next Wednesday. I feel like a kid with a new toy.

I'm pretty sure there are some seasoned veteran TR tuners up in your area. Try to hook up with some of them and you should be in the 11's in no time!!

Oh... And have fun...

last nights track visit

best run was 14.1 at 103 mph. My 60 ft. was a crappy 2.5. This was at about 18 psi with no knock so I know it had a 13 sec. run in it with a little more boost. I definetly need slicks since I couldn't build any boost on the line. I broke the tires loose on the line trying to build as much boost as possible but my street tires weren't up to it. I know this doesn't sound impressive to you guys in the 12's but this new turbo pulls like hell. I couldn't imagine what 25 psi feels like. Last night was the most fun I've had with this car since I've owned it! All of the money spent was well worth it.

The tune/mechanicals is still not there. Typically, similar combinations (going by your signature) should run approx. 113mph on that boost level. Before turning the boost up looking for more power I think you need to find the missing power at your current boost level.

Try to get together with some of you other local TR owners for a day at the track.

Your 60 ft is definitly killing you! With my stock turbo I ran 12.8 @ 103 mph with a 1.88 60 ft. Get some sticky tires and have some fun!! Also a good race chip. R.B.
