1-2 shift problem

got a 85 brq trans and the 1-2 shift seems like its hitting the rev limiter unless i get off the gas then it shifts then i can get back on the gas. i tried to adjust the tv cable but didnt fix it just moved the shift back and forth. i do have the deep pan and 700 filte and 1 qt overfilled with regular dextron 3 fluid. no mods done to the trands internally. fluid is like new and has 25,000 miles on the trans.

You tried the pressure guage thingy? sound like something isnt set right but im no expert. if you havent messed with anything since it was running right your gonna have to use the guage procedure.

if you moved anything its probably out of wack a millimeter or two just a guess wish i could help.
