1 Piece Speedometer cable

My speedometer cable is making noise when cold. Bought a 1 piece cable. Was doing a little research, will the 1 piece cable affect my cruise control or have any negative effects? Is the 1 piece cable better?

What year is your car? For 86/87 cars i think the 2 piece cable was for ease of assembly at the factory. A one piece cable of the correct length should be just fine. Use a piece of string when you remove the old cable to help get the right/correct routing.

1987. Put the 1 piece on today with no issues. We did have a slight issue with the routing but my guy figured it out. Good tip though. Thank you.

Where did you buy it from, did it bother your cruz control?

Got it a real long time ago, don't remember where. The box I believe has the part# on it if you want me to check when I get to the house. I never use my cruise and I didn't check it afterwards. Watching my guy install it, don't know why it would, it was disconnect the old 2 piece, put in 1 piece. I thought I saw a post about it affecting cruise that is why I asked. My 2 piece came off incredibly nice too.
Doing a little more research it looks like the AVC GNX dash with VDO speedo has the issue with the VSS, not OEM. Apparently they use something at the 2 piece connection, which you obviously can't use there if using the 1 piece.
