It's a sign of the times. GM is consolidating to save money. Oldsmobile first, now Pontiac :(

Sadness. I've had Pontiacs for 6 years as my daily drivers. Not much flash but they do get the job done. I expect many more years from my `86 GP. RIP GTO & Firebird/TA...you will be missed.

try to imagine a world where you rarely see a Pontiac on the road...

in 10 yrs... there will be hardly any GTP's or Sunbirds or Firebirds still running...
in 20... even fewer. By then the only ones left will be the babbied never driven examples.

so is that 2011 trans am ever gonna be released. like just a limited thing through gmc or through chevy. or is it just a proto type. that we will never never ever drive....

Take a bow bean counters, you managed to yet again kill off a brand with sporty image and style. GMC gets to stay because it's a rebadged chevy.

My wife and I bought a 2009 Pontiac G8 GT,and it will MORE than "get the job done."

If GM had pulled the plug on Buick, the Chinese would be forced to drive Chevys and Fords. I'm sad too to see Pontiac go but then again Pontiac hasn't been a Pontiac for many years. Gone are the good cars like GTO, the RWD Grand Prixs, Trans AM/Firebird, RWD Le Mans, and I'll even mention the Ventura II, albeit it was never a true muscle car. Sorry but I can't associate crap like Azteks and Vibes with something Pontiac could or would make. Those are clearly a slap in the face/a disgrace to the Pontiac name.

True dat.... lame execs and managers thought they could make money with Pontiac by selling azteks and vibes instead of Firebirds and GTO's? WTF so stupid....

Lutz gave it a good effort with the 04-06 Goat and G8, even the little Solstice was worthy.... but it was just too little too late especially with the economy hammering the entire industry....

well i agree. im kinda hurt buy it my self. my dad had a 1984 firebird. and i can remember the day he bought it brand new in 84. the car was like the one on tv to me. i was a kid and knight rider was so big at the time. not lik the crapy remake with the ford in it. i mean real michael knight stuff. any way THANK YOU GM. FOR JUST KEEPING THE THE GMC BRAND AROUND. its not like we needed more chevys out there. i hope that there new 2011 buick T does seal the fate on buick. cuz we really dont need to see the end of buick.
