i AM BUILDING A PONTIAC T/A TURBO. iT PRODUCE ABOUT 1100HP.
iS THERE ANYWAY I CAN, OPGRADE MY 10 BOLT REAR END, SO IT CAN HANDLE THE POWER. i KNOW I CAN BUY A FORD 9", BUT I LIKE THE 10 BOLT.
ANY IDEA.

kELYS.

if you are going to be making an honest 1100hp, then get at least a 9 inch with all premium guts.

There are several guys in that HP range with the 10 bolt [Jack cotton being one]. Get some good axles and a spool.

IMO the cost to build the 10 bolt make it a waste of $ when you can build a much stronger 9" and have easier access to the gears. Jack seems to break a ring and pinion about once a year with his 10 bolt at about 1000hp.

It's been a while but I thought the Turbo T/A's and GTA's were equipped with the 9 bolt "Aussie" rear axle, the only 10 bolt for 3rd/4th gen f-bodies was the 7.5 or 7.625 (essentially the same) which is a very weak rear axle for any serious performance use. If serious about power, go straight to 9" Ford or Dana 60/70. Good luck.

are you talking about building a 2nd gen ta 70-81 or 3 rd gen 82-92

you can build a 2nd gen as the come with a 8.5 rear.

3rd gens have 7.5 or a 9 bolt both are junk and can not be built for the power level you are talking about.
