..still having a hard time understanding why some of you are making such a big deal of his age?o_O I got my buick when I was 17.....still have it...still drive it....and still love it.;) To Corvettekiller, I hope you get your issues sorted soon. Sounds like you have a great car on your hands.

It takes about 27 years to get in the clique.

Need to learn how to crawl and walk before you can run. When you get the first 10 second time slip post it in here for everyone to see. You should have it by the end of summer, piece of cake.

How far are you from Bowling Green? Lee Thompson lives there now and might be willing to diagnose your car. Not for free but probably be money well spent to establish a baseline.
I live in johnson county. Thats a pretty far drive. Ive actually went to to the buick meet last year to buy some parts. The pump is methanol and alcohol compatible with EPDM seals it says with the papers. I believe the previous owner had some help building the car from Kip Asplund, I think thats what his name is. I haven't had a chance to contact him yet.

Yeah you should get in touch with Kip. You are so remote that you'll be diagnosing everything yourself. My only recommendation is to drop boost to 15 psi, get a good fresh tank of street gas (92) and see if it will run well with some pep and no hiccups. Test it at cruise, WOT, idle and record logs of all of those scenarios. Then you will have something to start with. Check your plugs, make sure they are clean and maybe even new. Ohm your sparkplug wires and make sure they are nearly 0.0 (zero point zero) continuity. Make sure your battery is good with the alternator charging properly.

I just took the car out to record a log. I started at a redlight at idle, speed up to cruising speed and did a WOT burst. My dad happened to adjust the wastegate the wrong way last night and it built 2 more pounds of boost instead of dropping it from 18.... but it ran smoother than it did? I hooked the battery tender up last night and it showed the battery was low so I let it charge over night but here is the log. If you need me to take another log with the boost dropped I can before it starts raining later.

Save it then open it in powerlogger and hit review, or save it, open powerlogger, press f3, then click load log file.

Sometimes I don't see the logs good on this computer at work. It's had it's better days. Your WOT TPS is a little low as well as your WOT Battery Voltage. 20lbs of boost and no knock.;) The tune doesn't look that bad.

The floor mat i have goes under the pedals i usually take them out when i go to the track. The TPS WOT is usually around 4.20 4.30.

It felt pretty good today. Last time I took it out I could feel a shudder as it started building boost and it felt like it was misfiring and not making full power, but no knock. The only thing that has been changed on the car is dad accidently upped the boost by around 2psi and I put the battery tender on it overnight.

Maybe your alternator is starting to go. Was your battery low b/c of not getting enough volts to charge it and run the engine? Any AC volts bleeding into the battery?

Put a zip tie on the throttle cable on the inside of the car. That will shim it enough so the floormat won't keep your from WOT.

The tender has been running for a good while and it is still not showing full charge the battery it self might be bad. I have no clue how old it is. The alternator is a brand new ac delco though.

The battery wasnt low, we just have 50 battery tenders laying around and i had left the dome light and key on for awhile messing with it so i threw one on it just in case i ran it down. I don't know what you mean by ac volts bleeding into it.

your data file looks halfway decent there youngster. Your knock sensor appears to be functioning since you do have 1 count, probably from when the engine was started up. No knock retard is good. Your BLMs look good too. Nothing wound up too high or too low.

WOT O2's are OK so far, but might look a little leaner if you stay in it longer. So you might need to add some more fuel through the chip programmable parameters. Do you know how to change the chip settings using your powerlogger? You can download the chip instructions from the turbotweak website

I'm for one am happy to see a youngster with an interest in an old Buick. Helluva lot better than a Honda Civic!

Haha and turn off the A/C when your romping on it....

Also your O2 sensor looks to be a bit lazy, it's probably suffering from slight lead poisoning if you had some leaded race gas running through it. See if a fresh O2 sensor helps to get the "Activity" up when it's in closed loop control. It's still working it's just not going full swing like a fresh one would.
