Song Downloads

I've downloaded a few, some good some bad. Free and legal, not the free illegal kind.

I use limewire, but its hard to find songs sometimes that dont sound like a 3yo uploaded them.

Don't use Limewire then. Gotta hop on the torrent bandwagon with the rest of us. I haven't bought a CD in at least 5 years.

i'm kind of weird and old fashioned- i still buy cd's and support the bands i like.
not that there is much out there that i feel like buying any more.

I have heard there is this place called Demonoid.com. You will need a torrent program. I hear one of the programs people use is uTorrent. Rumor has it there are tons of great songs, videos, movies and programs available at these types of places.

Not with you. I'm sure you hear it from both sides. Vendors cry whenever someone doesn't route money through them. Members cry because they can't well... I am sure you hear the gripes from everyone.



And... you can search amazon for "free" and get free .mp3s that way. I use thepirate bay and the like for the other downloads and then pay for the songs or album if I like them.

Me too except I support all of my favorite bands by seeing them live and buying merchandise directly from them.

As with any filesharing, NEVER allow uploads, period. Most ISPs will cut your line off if they see torrent traffic outbound from your connection. I have a hard time with this because I torrent entire machine images, most over 16GB. All of the files are legal to own and distributes as you wish. My ISP gets a little mad about it. I can tell because if I so much as begin torrent uploading, the line stops for twelve hours, it's exactly twelve ever time. Not to mention if the RIAA busts you for uploading files they own...game over.

Try running PeerGuardian2, turning on uTorrent's built in encryption feature, and limiting your upload speed to <10kbs. They'll just think you're streaming videos constantly.
