I just don't get it, I am running 120.82 mph with a 1.53 60ft and my ET is only an 11.48. Guys running my mph are hitting 11 teens or better with similar 60ft times and then there are the guys running 11.40 at 117mph. Is it because I am not running race fuel with a race chip with more timming to get more mid range power? I would really like to know your opions on why I am not running better ETs?

Thanks alot,
Marco.

just a guess but i would say get some taller tires 26.3" r on the small side for 120mph, what r ur rpms through the traps?

11.48

for having a 44 on pump gas.w/drag radials is why but it,s not bad.you were hooking you need bigger turbo 6152e.and you will see better et,s.i may be wrong but i believe youre turbo is runnig out of steam on the big end.a 61 or 6776 and slicks would cure that!:D

once you hit 11's you should consider 28 tall tires i went from a 12.004 to a 11.60 on the same tune with the tire switch and 110 to a 115

I come in at 5333 rpm with the torque convertor locked in third gear.

Could there be any there slip in there? Maybe trans clutches? I agree you should be 11 teens with that mph. But locking can be a little deceiving since its brings the mph up a lot if the converter slip was high unlocked. Whats your mph unlocked? You may be driving through the converter in 1st and 2nd causing less than ideal e.t's. Thats a great mph for the heavy weight and un-ported heads/stock cam. Taller tires will help.

I tried my 28 inch tall MT drag radials two weeks but the car ran slower but it was with a much richer tune and I couldn't let the motor cool down because my battery would die out when I would let the fan run. It was just a bad day for me , I had to let the motor run while I was waiting to pull a run. My last run was with a 190 degree motor, 1.58 60ft , 11.75 at 115.68 mph with the exhaust closed and the torque convertor not locked because my switch wasn't working that day. I was passsing the traps at 5371 rpm with the tranny not locked. Went back this last weekend with the smaller tires, opened exhaust, and the torque locked and a new optima battery so the motor was running cooler because I could put the fan on and did't have to make it run in the lanes. Ran the best ever with the smaller tires but will give the 28s another try next year and see what happens. Bison do you think my torque is slipping because my tranny shifts great and doesn't seem to be slipping ?

What was your MPH @ the 1/8th?

The track I go to doesn't say the 1/8 mph.

I think it's pretty good considering your weight and the fact that you are running a smaller tire.

Your converter is slipping less than 2% so that is not the issue.

he should be at an 11.3 according to the conversion chart for 1/8 to 1/4.

Yes, but his 1/8th is off, too. I ran a 7.18 @ 95 in my car on my way to an 11.36 @ 115.4 MPH. 1.57 60' time. But....I do it on 28" tall tires.

What kind of WOT timing are you running at the track?

Do you have more than one time slip with 120+ mph on it?

That one doesn't add up.

What track are you running at and do they still have the second set of mph lights 66 feet past the finish line?

I run with 23 degrees timing 1st and 2nd and 21 degrees 3rd and 4th as set on my alky turbo tweak chip.

With a similar tune I have another time slip but with the exhaust closed and with a very bad 60ft time because I got to greedy off the line and launched with more boost and spun the tires.

1.95- 60ft
7.85- 1/8 mile
12.14- 1/4 mile
119.45- mph

The track is Napierville Dragway up here in Canada and the mph lights are not 66 feet past the finish line.

Hmm, nothing wrong with that timing curve, it's for sure a mild race level setting, well maybe not full on race setting. I used to run 25°-27° WOT timing but that was with good 114 race gas.

Id really like to see the 1/8th mile to 1/4 mile mph gain, that will tell a lot about where you need to improve. See my time below in my sig, my mph gain from 1/8th to 1/4th was usually 23 - 24! Oh, and my best 1/8th mile was 7.08, maybe you should up the timing a degree in 1st and 2nd, and get your boost spike under control.......... HTH

Car is probably flat to the 330. Post the complete time slip.

Get the 330 down, the rest follows.
