Well I went to the track, and ran my car for the first time, before I do any modifications. I ran a consistant 14.70. I was expecting a little more, but for all of you guys that want to know what a stock one will run that was my time.

Here is what I had

275/60/15 BFG drag radials

Air bags, pinion snubber, heavy duty rear springs

ATR 3inch single shot exhuast w/no converter

4 gallons 110 octane mixed with 7 gallons 93,

18-20lbs of boost with adj wastegate No knock

87 ECM and KB 93 octane chip for 36lb injectors (stock ones were used).

Thats about it, thanks for all of your help, now its time to add an intercooler, a bigger turbo, poston headers, better intake, and some injectors

you were running a 36# chip with stock injectors?

what was your 60' and trap speed?

Great times! I know it's possible because my dad went 14.0 with a chip, filter, electric fan, and regulator on pump gas. That was through the stock exhaust and convertor too.

I'd like to see what yours would do with a race chip to take advantage of the race gas before you mod it. Maybe some slicks too and see if we can't have one "stock" hotair hit a 13.9x.

i too would like to see the difference of a racechip as I think that a hotair car in stock form will actually benefit from it more. Because we run out of turbo effeciency faster, we would probably benefit from increased timing quite a bit more.

Well my 60ft times were a little over 2sec, it felt fast out of the hole, but after about 4000 rpm, the car seemed to have no more power, the stock turbo was flowing as much as possible, just not enough air (also going bad, smoking a little).

Lee said that I may run a low 14s with some slicks as his car did stock.

I may go out there next week and run a race chip 110 , and pure 110 octane.

The Bfg drag radials gripped hard, with the assistance of some air bags and good springs.

STILL BEAT A 5.0 mustang though which I felt good about. HAHA

hmm...maybe the driving needs some readjusment. I'm not saying you're a bad driver. how do you launch the car? do you slam on to the gas or do you a gradual build to WOT? I found that a quick gradual build to WOT got me better times. I netted a high 13 pass once but never got to do it again :(. but I averaged 14.2X. If I would floor it straight to WOT...I would net 14.7. My 60' were 2.1 to 2.0. I'm still trying to get my 13 down. My setup is relatively the same less the suspension items and race gas. My T would also feel like it's not picking up anymore past 4500rpms towards the end of the ¼ mile. I'm willing to bet on WFO comment that the springs are prolly crapping out too.

Maybe I do need some adjustment. And you were right, I did just nail it to the floor w/out boost building. It was my first time so I was just feeling out the car. I will keep the gradual WOT in mind next week. Thanks Matt

You hit on something there Turtle TR that I have always noticed on the streets with these cars. Gradually getting on it the car gets off like a monster! I was wondering if anyone had been racing like that. If you build boost at the line would it be beneficial to race this way, or just stomp on it WOT when you go?

if you've got traction you want to build as much boost as the tires/brakes will handle then simultaniously dump the brakes and mat it when the light comes down.

if you don't have traction you still want to powerbrake it up to "0" or maybe a couple psi, ease it out and gradually go wot like you guys are saying.

rolling on the throttle is a part-throttle knock nightmare for me.. maybe tec will fix that..

if i need to speed up i just go WOT.. its fun to scare people with the exhaust anyway :D
