14 bolt oil pan questions.....

Are all the bolts the same size or are there 4 bolts that are bigger?

Assumming you are using it on a 4.1 or older 3.8---all the holes are the same size thread.

I have a Stage II 4.1. The production 4.1 and the Stage eng. use the same pan ( I shuold say they have the same bolt pattern )

Are they 1/4 or 5/16... i dont have the block in front of me.

14 Bolt oil pan.

In the couple of 14 bolt pans I have used the holes in the pan are for 5/16" bolts, I ended up using 2- 1/4" bolts on the front that go into the front engine timing gear cover.

hmmm a big block chevy stud set would work then....

12-5/16" and 2- 1/4" Thanks right Brian. I have used chevy pan bolts in the buicks before, they'll work fine. The aftermaket covers I have used come with the bolt holes for the 14 bolt pan plus the 20 bolt pan , when using a stock cover from a 20 bolt motor you'll have to drill and tap 2 more holes for the 14 bolt pan, course you know all that stuff.
