160 thermo with 180 programed chip

Will this confuse my car at all?

Chip is programed to turn the fans on at 180, put a 160 thermo in to help keep knock down.

It won't confuse the car. The fan will still come on at 180 degrees.

Around town you'll run in the 180-185 range on the interstate 160 or so. Unless the AC is on.
