all i know is those stupid things hes got go right up to the mstrcydr i dunno. and hes got some slip fit tubes on drvr side as well like eql lenght maybe? and some weird motor plate/ motor mount accross front.

AH! Motor plates make a difference. I am thinking along the lines of stock mounts, which mine had. :) Mine are slip fit (1 on driver side, 2 on passenger side) but they fit the body without rubbing on anything. Even when the mounts were sagging from age.

Mmmmm....... there some serious H-body luv going on here..

Definitly go with a turbo set-up! be really nuts..... go Carb turbo

"Mmmmm....... there some serious H-body luv going on here.."

Especially in New Mexico. It is about the only place you can find them that aren't all full of rust. I am rather fond of them too but I have only had 12 of them. :D To get 400hp from a V6 it almost HAS to be turbo. To get that N/A, it would require more cubes, lots more compression, big solid roller cam, and heads that flow a ton. Race gas would be a must and it would be a tempermental beast. Most likely it would have to be a track only car.

I may just have to come out there for a visit so I can find parts for my old Skyhawk now. You guys would be very helpful if I ever get around to fixing her up again.

Charlie, let us know what you need. I have a HUGE stock pile of H-body parts. I have parted quite a few. At least a few years ago people would give them away if you got them out of their yard. Now all of a sudden people seem to think they are gold. My 77 wagon is currently (and going to stay) N/A. I want to see how far a stock block, stock head configuration can go. The engine I have in works now is going to be silly.:p

Thanks Erik. The two biggest things I need are a windshield and a new hatch. Someone put a hole in mine and tried to tare off the one of the tail lights. They also ripped the rear louvers off the car. The hood needs to be replaced but I want to go with fiberglass this time.

Picture of it

I had a '79 Pontiac Sunbird with a 3.8 Buick in it. I was my first buick v6. Car was fun to drive. Handled well and had enough grunt to be fun.
Also ran hot and had NO oil pressure on the gage at idle!

Here's my first car. First car I modded and the first car I painted... First car I wrecked too!!

My Spydr I had, I put a 400 with powerglide, tied the frame, cobbled up ford 9inch that I learned how to weld on, painted it flat black with a big reaper on the hood..man was it ugly..but fun

Nice car Heg87t...don't see too many of those anymore...last I saw one up close was when women still had Farrah Fawcett hair do's, people wore their socks pulled up to their knees and REO Speedwagon's "Keep On Loving You" was a top 40 hit on the radio.

You have to be a member to see it Joe.:( How's things going? Get the car fixed yet?

Got the car sorted out, think I am making too much power now. Think I am developing a 2-3 flare, but not completely sure it isnt a detent cable adjustment issue. There is always something to work on with these cars, LOL.

Glad to hear you got the car sorted out but you need to do the tranny now, sorry.

As far as the Monza, it sounds like a good deal.

Wow just had to chime in on this one. Here is a link to all the engines installed in H bodies monza

According to several of the H body members there was a Monza V8 built from the factory with a 4bbl carb.

I have a 1977 Buick H body report that shows 1 SkyHawk built with an L77 RPO code (350 V8 4bbl). Then on another page it combines two RPO codes L32 + L77 and shows 1 SkyHawk built. L32 is a 2bbl 350 V8. At least the report has the L77 next to the other two engines installed for the 77 SkyHawk LD5 (even fire V6) and the LD7 (odd fire V6). Sure would like to see that Buick V8 car someday ;)

I have a 77 SkyHawk with a six point rollbar, Moser 12bolt 3:42 gear, S&W adjustable torque arm (F body) Spohn lower adj control arms and soon a Buick 109 V6 turbo with a blow thru carb. Working on the headers now hope to drive it in the next year.

Do you have some pictures of the F-body torque arm in the h-body? I was thinking of doing the same thing. I don't mind some fab work but if there is something close that will work all the better. Time is money. Thanks

That link didn't work very well.

It's been a long time since I looked under an H body. Thanks for the memories. I like the way you did it. Did you make the frame connectors yourself?
