Will a 1983 Turbo T 200r4 be able to be used in a 1984 G.N. Im trying to connect the 4 prong plug and it doesnt go in. Are they different internally as far as electronics. Will i need to put another trans, this one is rebuilt already.
Thanks Rudy

The one you are trying to use is a 3-pin (white) connector and the TR's use a 4-pin (black) connector. Different wiring internally and it will need to be swapped out to the 2 pressure switches and wiring of the GN trans. In 83 there was not a Turbo T so I hope it was built to the proper specs to handle the torque that the hotair puts out. Most stock non TR transmissions won't last without the proper calibration. Shifting concerns and pressure rise matching torque input are a concern as well.

Thanks I just noticed they are different color. Im going to remove the plug and wires from an 85 GN trans that i and use it on my 83 tranny.

you could just get a white plug and pop the wires out of your stock plug.. this is what i did to get TCC lockup in 4th gear when i put a junkyard Caprice trans in my car.. i still have the stock black plug under the car with the extra wire in it, it's just zip tied out of the way for now.

I happen to have a spare white plug from an olds, but what is the function of the extra wire on the black plug.

It's the 3rd pressure switch. To have function of the 4th wire you will need to drill and tap the vb for the extra switch. Otherwise running the 4 pin connector isnt helping anything other than the fact that it will plug into the harness. If you want pics of where to drill and tap let me know. I'll send you an extra pressure switch if you need that too. Just cover the postage.

Thanks for the info Bison, and yes ill like a pic of where to drill and tap it for the extra switch. Let me know how much shipped for the extra switch. I dont know if you still have my address, but the zip is 60409

I have everything for the trans now. Ill be drilling and tapping the valve body tomarrow. Thank you everyone for the info.
