I made a thread in the hot air sfi section about getting the 83 tube grommet reproduced by Brian at gbodyparts. If any of you are interested, here is a link to the thread.http://www.turbobuick.com/forums/threads/new-turbo-drain-grommets.425161/#post-3535842

This is the original design that's going to be reproduced for the HA guys. It's less likely to leak and should last for a long time. These will only be done once that I know of, and they may not be cheap like the HELP stuff is, but it's a much better design.

I posted in the hot air thread, but will add this here too.

This design was not used in 1983. It was used on the 1978/79 Turbo Regals. It used a short rigid drain tube like pictured. It was prone to 'dry rot' from the heat. In 1980, Buick redesigned it to a longer flexible drain tube with a grommet much like a PCV grommet. The longer tube went down into the intake. I've never had a leak with the longer design.

I'm not sure what the 84/85 drain tube looks like. Hopefully this grommet helps and the re-pop is made from heat resistance material.

1978/79 owners will certainly be happy to see this made.

Here are the GM numbers (discontinued). GM calledhe grommet a 'hose'

1978/79 used a rigid drain line that rested into the "hose" fitting. In 1980/83, Buick went to a flexible drain line that fit into a traditional grommet (like a PCV grommet, but bigger). If you can't locate the hose fitting, you might be able to find the flex drain line and grommet at a turbo shop. It's an improved design that should work better (easier installation). Here the GM part numbers:
1978/79 Drain line (connector) - 1260602
1978/79 Drain hose - 1260599
1980/83 Drain line - 25504159
1980/83 Drain grommet - 25504235
