What other year GN's match the interior trim color? It is lighter than the 86-87. My 84GN has gray carpet from the factory. When did Buick change to black carpet? I'm trying to find some matching CSII lower door panels and am hoping 85 GN will match???

Hey Conrad,
Sorry to tell you but 84 is a one year color. 85 -87 GN will have black carpet.
Actually 84 color was called sand biege and isn't really gray.

Unless your restoring it, I'd just put the black carpet in. I did with my 84 and it looks much better. Grey only looks good when its clean, and once it gets dirty, seems like you can never get it looking real clean again. just my opinion

Can anyone tell me what I have to acquire to convert my 84GN non-CSII to CSII?
Conrad

i just went through this and i found #7087 doeskin from auto custom carpets

alphaenvirmgt you will need lower door panels with speaker holes in them, maby a radio for 6 speakers i would trade you door panels but mine are scratched, because i just made my 84 gn radio delete and i am not needing the lower door panels any more.

MYBUICK,
Thanks so much for the info. I appreciate your help.
Conrad

You can always cut the holes in the trim panel for the speaker grilles. Just like the factory did. They aint CS2 specific anyway.

Eric,
Thanks for the input. I have 3 more questions. Maybe you can help me with them.
1. I don't see a cutout in the door for the speaker...does the speaker mount to the door or door panel? Will I have to cut opening the door as well?
2. Should the wiring for the door speakers already be in place under the dash and in the doors?
3. Where is the CSII covered in the FSM?

Conrad

I dont recall having to cut any metal so I'd have to say there is room there. You are probally going to have to run the wires for the speakers. Look under radio in the FSM. IIRC there are several pages and maybe an illustration for everything.

The only other thing special about the CS2 is the water barrier between the door and the trim panel. Thats the paper that looks like an old grocery bag. The CS2 version has a plastic bag looking pocket molded or glued to it that protects the speaker from moisture damage.
