Wastegate housing/down pipe gasket

Just looking for recommendations for a good quality wastegate housing gasket. discovered I have a minor leak on mine just a bit ago. Is the standard copper crush gasket good enough? provided mating surfaces arent warped obviously.

if it was mine, I would tap a sheet of 220 sandpaper on a sheet of glass sand it flat and reassemble ,no gasket asper OE

Get a new 12" bastard file and sweep across the whole surface in one stroke . You'll see the high or low spots . Keep the file clean and file pushing away only , not back & forth . After you have it flat , smooth it with sandpaper as stated by THensley above .

I figured that's what I'd have to do, did it years ago on the manifold to turbo housing and then put the cometic gasket on there and that was 10+yrs ago. Aight no gasket, file out imperfections, smooth out with some 220 and call it a day. Cool now I have a project to do once I get home and can go hide in the garage.

I see more than a 12 dollar bastard file in your future. It can be fixed. Lots of different techniques to get those broken bolts out and you may need to try several before there out.

Gonna start with left handed bits and extractors and lots of patience..... Then comes the hot wrench, it can't stay in there if it's molten

That thing belongs in the nearest scrap pile ,,, i just sold a perfectly fine Ta-49 for $400..meaning there are super cheap deals out there to be had. The labor and unsure results will be big with that mess.

I can't ever seem to get so lucky, TA49 would be sweet, the turbo itself functions fine though, just had a minor leak, and then I created a probleme lol.
