I have been asked by my neighbor to sell his car for him. There is kind of a history to it. It's an 87', with 14,000 original miles on it. The low mileage is due to the previous owner, who died, and left no will. My neighbor, a tow truck driver, was commissioned to tow the car, and it got impounded, and by the usual procedure, as he tells me, anyway, if, once it has sat there for so long, if he agrees to pay any back taxes on it, the car is his. So he did. He now wants to sell it, as he has an el camino with a chevelle 454 in it, and what he really needs is a car for driving in the CT winter. Before putting it on ebay, I just wanted to offer it to people that might actually appreciate it (drive the heck out of it, at a drag strip) rather than park it in a garage, again.

The car is in perfect working order, and the interior is in pristine condition. I can attest to how well it works, lol. There are only two problems with it. It needs new tires (it still has it's origional tires on it, and they are, obviously, old and cracking), and it has some crackling of the pain, on the hood.
If you want pics of anything, just message me. I can take a picture of whatever you want.

Oh, he is asking 20,000. If you want a VIN, message me, and I can give you that as well, or a pic of it, whatever. Thanks for looking.

Vin is....1G4GJ1173HP4624466. It is in CT, by the way. Sorry, this is my first time trying to sell a car.....at least, online. If I leave out anything else, just let me know, or if you have any other questions.

Oh yeah, and pictures.

This is her....."The Black Bitch", as my neighbor calls her...

Underside of the car has undercoating, but you can see some small amounts of rust on the pipes.

Sorry guys, but look at the tire wear in the pics. Never saw tires that worn at 14,000 miles. Not trying to knock the car but it is what it is.

Well, as I said, it's not my car. I'll ask him, though. How the tires are so worn down, for only 14,000 miles, and such, and why he is asking so much.

Give the poor guy a break. If the car has not been in a heated, clean garage, and has not been maintained very well, it's not going to look brand new. If you are interested, GO LOOK AT IT. If not, let him try to sell the car.

Well, actually, I don't really mind. I would never trust anyone trying to sell this car either, lol. Fact is, I want the damn thing. But, I don't have 20,000. Plus, it is seeming like this is a bit steep of him to ask, lol. I think I understand why he gave ME the task of selling it, now. He must have had no luck with the local sales papers, and stuff. Personally, other than the info that I got from kelly blue book, I don't know much about their value, collector wise. Kelly has it at 29,000, but kelly doesn't see the bad paint and rotted tires.

HAhahaha.....Yeah, after getting a good look at what all else was for sale here.....he REALLY wants too much for it............When I see him tomorow, I'm gonna let him know that he MIGHT want to think about dropping the price....

That cars a diamond in the rough so to say, I purchased an 87 Gn last summer with only 15,000km, I paid 16,000 for it, It needed tires and the paint was checking on the hood and roof, nothing a little water sanded and polishing love cant fix,

Heres a bump for a diamond in the rough,

Fwiw, not taking sides in this debate going on here, and no flaming intended for either side, I consider myself reasonably good at judging mileage on these cars in general, and having owned 5 of these cars with 2 of them being purchased with documented and verifable extremely low mileage, 1 purchased at about 10 K miles on the clock, and the present one that I own now with 22K miles on the clock now but was purchased with 8.2 K miles on the clock, I believe the mileage on this car to be real. I pulled my tires off of my car to install GTA rims & Michelin Pilot Sport tires at about 17.5 K miles and my tires look only a little better than those. Definitely a neglected car, but the motor compartment looks about 14K miles to me. Steering wheel looks to me like someone had very heavy acid content in their system, such as a heavy coffee drinker. My steering wheel is still perfect museum quality with slightly over 22K miles on my car. Fwiw, imho, & no flaming intended. Not getting my $20K though. Good luck on the sale.
Also, that car should really be taken to a good honest reliable detail shop for a wash, clay-bar, polish, glaze, wax, clean & detail the motor compartment if you expect to get any money at all for that car. I wouldn't pay any money at all for a car that looks that filthy & neglected. Show before & after pics so nobody will think that you are up to something. Not that I am a good judge of what these cars will bring moneywise, but that car wouldn't bring $ 15K the way that it is being presented.

Agreed! Definately take the time to detail that puppy and it may get around $15-16K. I think it really depends on how bad the paint is. We all know that the factory paint is notorious for spiderwebbing and fading, specially if it hasnt been well mantained. If the car was perfect, youd get $20K for it but it's not so he will have to make some adjustments on the price. Would be a sweet car and valuable with those miles though!

Maybe it's just me but...

I can't imagine why the front bumper rubber would need to be changed unless there was an accident. What did Carfax say?? GN'S came from the factory with all black bumper strips-this one has the white stripe around it.
