Actual main "Line" pressure is what is "available" for internal workings, converter "charge" pressure is a regulated "down" pressure.
If concerned about excessive "loading", test inline cooler pressures, remember that a restriction of any kind back through the lube circut is what creates the "head pressure" out of the converter, which is fed seperately but can (and will) be overwelmed by leakage past the pump rotor/slide assembly.
