I've "GOT BOOST"!

I just got my 87' GN back together last weekend. So I was out the other night driving it trying to get some miles on the motor. I go to get on the freeway and it dies on me. Trace the problem today and I had blown the FP/INJ fuse.

So here's the first Q;
Can the hobbs switch for my dbl pumper be shorted out, or can the second pump be bad and causing the fuse to blow. The fuse only blows with the hobbs switch (for the 2nd pump) hooked up and when the car hits 12lbs of boost. :confused:

2nd Q;
What kind of leak down can I expect from Seimens 55lb injectors? I lost 17lbs within 20min. My dad's car (w/ 30lb injectors from Poston) lost 1/2lb in same time frame. :confused:

Please, any help would be greatly appreciated.

pump and injectors

Hi Craig,
Check your wiring to the second pump.Then ohm the suspect unit, should be at least 1 to 2 onms.Anything less, probably poof on the fuse.Check the other pump for reference.
Regarding your injectors, make sure the pressure drop is through the injectors, not back through the system. Block off both inlet and return after shutdown,gauge installed, and observe.I run 009s, not much bleed down.If an injector is leaking, not acceptable. Did you install new ones, or some used s#*t? 50 pounders, right? It doesn't matter, an injector shouldn't leak, period. great way to wash the cylinders and mess up the rings, eventually. When severe, hydrolock is possible,and you don't want to go there.
By the way, what pressure are you running? I would hold it to 45psi, which could be 70 under boost, depending on your configuration.
Good luck with your trouble.

Also check the fuel pump test lead under the hood near the back of the alternator if this grounds it will blow the fuse.
