First...Anyone know of a company that sells the seat foam. My drivers side is a pain in the a$$ I saw earlier a group purchase for the seat foams. Is this still on?
Second....This may be a simple or stupid one. I want to turn my stock turbo into a TA-49 (correct labeling?). Are these turbo's similar? Please, educate this lost soul.
i talked to jack cotton not too long ago about the differences between a ta49 and a stock turbo, specifically the center sections. he said the center sections in both are machined different and cannot be swapped. you would also need a new compressor wheel as the stock has 7 blades and the ta49 has 6 blades. and the ta49 blades are equal and the stock blades are alternating if i recall correctly. it may be the other way around but i know one has different length blades and one has equal length blades. the ta49 also has 58mm inlet and the stocker is smaller. you may need a new compressor housing b/c the housings on my stocker and ta49 look different but not by much. after all these new parts and a rebuild kit which you would probably want to put in while its apart, it would probably be easier/cheaper to just buy a ta49 new. i found a used one on the board for $175 and it works great
