Hello everybody,
I'm new to this board, but long time poster on Chevelles.com.
Rebuilding a 200-4r. See a lot of suggestions to come here for questions regarding this trans for obvious reasons.

Just tore it down and cleaned up a bit. Found that the 3-4 accumulator bore has a wear mark from the piston rubbing against I think. I've found the sleeve kits for a couple of other trannies but nothing for the 200-4r. Anybody know if this repair kit is available for the 200-4r and where?

It's an 85 Monte Carlo "CQ" unit.

Thanks in advance,
Joe

Just install 1 .250" checkball in the feed hole and you can salvage the case.Be sure not to drill the 3/4 feed hole too big as well.

I found this post and it sounds interesting to me because a 4th gear hard shift is not that important to me. I'm more interested in firm shifts.

Sorry for the format of the url, but if I haven't posted 4 times here I can't include a url to another site?

The 3-4 piston was installed piston then spring so the wear is at the bottom of the bore. If I install the spring then piston the wear spot is not an issue.

Guess some specs on the car will help.

engine = 355 268 xe268 cam aluminum edelbrock heads 10:1 compression
Torgue converter=12" 2500 stall
rear gear= 3.36:1

Drive mostly cruising but pound on it frequently.

Thanks again,
Joe
