Hey guys,
I wil be installing the 200 in the Chevelle soon. What cable is recommended when doing a conversion install.

I can get the TechPak cables through my trans parts supplier, or Pioneer brand, etc..

Any specific part numbers?

What is the correct cable length? Usually say for a Q-jet carbed mid 80's Monte Carlo?

How much longer should the wire be than the cable plastic?

I have several options, I can get thent hat are about 5" difference or 7"...

I'm confused... :)

TV cable and bracket #'s

I used a 25507546 GM TV cable and a 14077903 GM bracket
for my 200-4r swap into my '80 El Camino. They are part #'S
for a 1986 Monte Carlo. Your intake manifold should have the
old style coil mounts cast onto it for the bracket to bolt onto.
BTW, the bracket doesn't bolt across the rear of the carb. The
face of the bracket is about 4.5" from the pin on the carb. I
didn't think to measure the cable when I had it out of the car. :(

Norbert,
Thanks.
I LIKE p/n's :)

Cool.
I wonder if the coil brackets are further away ona BBC? This is going on a 505 cid BBC :)

Wonder if they make a bracket for the back of a Q-jet?

yeah it's a stock appearing (396) 505 motor too ;)

Thanks again..

If you use a '80's Q-jet w/ curved throttle lever and the 25507546 cable, the location of the bracket should fall into place.
Check out www.tvmadeez.com's TV system 101. WOT, TV plunger flush w/bushing, blah, blah, blah. :) That's how I did it, and it works great. P.S. Maybe reading posts to this board for a couple of years helped, too.:D
