Short answer...yes they all (as I recall) have the universal pattern-BOP/Chevy case....

All of the later ones have both patterns. Im building one for a high revving small block Chevy right now.

MOST have the universal bellhousing. My spare trans is BOP only though. I had to post pics of it on another forum awhile back because there was a guy that swore to god I was full of $hit and that I had a different trans. Guess he never stumbled across one fo the early ones.

So how do you make these trannys shift at 6700 rpm automatically for these
high winding small blocks.I am needing to do this on my combo, 5800 aint
gettin it.I can manually shift second to third but the one two shift is auto
because of the transbrake.
thanks in advance

Take some weight off of the gov.

It would be really hard to get to that shift point even with governor mods. You will need to experiment with removing gram weight and using different springs. You may need to alter both weights and use a stiffer spring after removing excess weight. More than likely you will need stiffer springs on the shift valves to get the desired rpms.

So the best solution would be to remove the transmission brake or change
to a style that would allow manual control of low gear. Is that right?

This is what you need. Just my opinion.
