2003 monte carlo ss pacecar

I know, I know, it's only got 200 hp and it's front wheel drive but I'm thinking of getting one for my wife to drive for a work car. Anyone have one? Anything I should be looking out for? It appears to be more of a luxury type car than performance oriented, but I do kind of like the style and theres really not much else out there (new)
Of course i could just buy 3 more grand nationals

You may want to hold off as GM has announced that the supercharged 3800 Series II will soon be available in the Monte SS.

Since you brought it up, I think it's great you can get your wife a new, luxury, car. We won't mind if you buy a low horsepower chevy painted to look like a performance car. You might as well get her a Caddy with racing stripes. These cars have no relationship to performance cars such as a Turbo Regal. Good luck!

The SS Monte is a great looking car. I just read somewhere that GM is going to bring back the SS Chevelle for 2005 and as mentioned above, the supercharged version of the Monte will be out next year...might be a better choice for re-sale value alone. Either way, that's a pretty cool ride for anybody's wife to have.

the ss is sweet looking without a doubt (even if it is a dog). for someones wife it should make a good car. my mom rocks the marauder and she doesn't even get it over 3500 rpm most of the time. leave that to me

Hey thanks guys, I had no idea the engine was going to be supercharged next year.That might be worth waiting for. Is there a link to that story. Any idea when next year?
