Rebuilt the trans myself a year ago new borg warner clucthes steels, new seal kit ,alto wide band some hard parts stator, sungear. Transgo shift kit. Trans was strong a few months back threw it in reverse and back to drive and all hell broke loose. Now for the trans to go forward i have to drop it in low and from there i can manually shift the unit fine, reverse works perfect. If it is in drive it just slips till i drop it in low and shift up from there good. What happened? sprag?

Low one-way roller holds in OD, D, 2 positions. Low clutches come on when in L1 position. Possible all/most of the little return springs that keep the rollers in the "ready" position on the ramps of the outer race either are broken or collapsed and not allowing a first gear.
