Hi my name is Jimmy Hussey and i am new to rebuilding transmissions. I just rebuilt my 2004r and when i put it back in i had a few problems. reverse would engage, the output shaft would spin a few revolutions and stop causing a slight load on the motor. When put into manual first there was no movement on the output just a lug on the motor and manual 2nd would spin and stop repeatedly.
so i decided to tear it back apart and from what i have read it may be in my center support. When doing the air pressure tests for the direct and forward clutches i found the passages for reverse/3rd and forward ( the two smaller passages between the threaded passages for the center support bolts) went to the same two passages on the spindle part of the support. so i was not able to complete the air pressure test as shown in the video that i was using. Could it have anything to do with the two inner bushing on the support? Does the whole center support need to be replaced? if so is there any suggestions on where to find one?
any help with this problem would be greatly appreciated
Thankyou
Jimmy Hussey
