2004R to 4L80-E shift pattern

Hello,
Does anyone know if a GN shifter will work for a 4L80-E trans? Shift pattern, throw the same?
Father is working on a street rod that will have a 4L80-E in it behind a 632ci BBC. Wanted to know if a GM 4-speed shifter would work with it.

The shift input arm on the 4L80E is around 1.5" farther back than on the 4L60E and about the same (maybe .3" difference different than the 4L60E) on the TH350. See the mods for the 4L80E on my 81 G-Body I did here:

Shows the 4L80E tranny and linkage mods needed to stuff one of these things in. Once you do these mods (rod and link bracket extension), it's a pretty easy swap - just remember you're dealing with a big unit here, and, especially with the deep aluminum pan, that means weight and a lot of tranny fluid (like a case per change). Notice I also used a mechanical speedo extension, shown in at least 1 picture.
