SignUp Now!LOL, TSR was started last year and had a decent car count for the very first race so it looked like it was going to be a very popular class but I just had too much going on at the time to keep it going so it got put on the back burner until I was told from another racer that "If I didn't like the rules, go start my own class".. Well I already had a year ago and had good car count why not start it back up but this time allow more guy's into the class...No sweat Scot. I'm not interested - just wondering.......
Good luck with everything.
I think I'll just start my own class. Seems like the thing to do these days. J/K
Nope! This class is in place for people to just have some fun, Bring your car and enjoy!is there a min qualifying ET?
Your Welcome! Not just them, There are a Bunch of people out there with stage engines in street cars that have no class to run in. Gary Tarwater here in TN has a stage 1 in his street car and had no where to run, Now he does and so does everyone else. After hearing how many guy's had this issue it only made sense to make room for them to run...Cool! It looks like Will and Wicks now have a place they can race their stret cars. Thanks for everything, Scott

You kind of got it backwards a little...If you have a 2004r trans you can run Either Drag Radials OR street tires (it's your choice). The 200 tread wear and up is the rule on ALL of the street tires..So, if you run regular street tires (200 tread wear and up), you need to have a 2004R? Seems like it could be looser rules for the true street tire guys. I see you still need AC for street tires too, but that rule was there last year too.
Will this makes all the sense in the world and I agree 100%. I will be going over the rules with Cal and Clint for further amendments. Now you have a place to race that street car of yours, now show up and race!!! LOLI agree with all of the rules except that one because the 9" rear gives ZERO performance advantage - it actually takes more HP to turn it. I'm not trying to be difficult and you can't please everyone but that is one rule I've never quite understood from THS.

It wasn't changed just for you but you made a lot of sense and with a bunch of others questioning the very same things it was the right thing to do, It only made sense!Sounds good but don't change the rules for me. My racing activities will be extremely limited this year with #3 due in July. What events are you all planning on trying to run this class?
Finally a TRUE street car class that caters to the masses instead of just a few. Good job and best of luck. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see this become a huge success! I'll try to make a couple of events as my schedule will allow.
hey scot, i sent cal $100 to add to the reynolds tsr payout, maybe 3rd/4th place gets a couple bucks?
Your entire statement is correct. It will be alot easier to police without having to measure turbo sizes by being able to simply look at the outside of the turbo and knowing whether you are allowed radials or drag radials. Doesn't matter if it is a 3 bolt OR a 4 bolt exhaust housing. I know I have seen several 67 E covered 4 bolt turbos on some buicks out there. PTE's website even lists a 6780R that is 3 x 2. The reason for the rule change is to draw in more cars. There are several Stage street cars that are out there that I know of with no where to race (kinda like the land of the misfit toys from rudolf ). Why not give them a place to run and to try to be competitive?? Cause believe me, If you decide to run this class and you can run drag radials, your gonna need EVERYTHING you got when in the other lane is a Stage 2 street car with a 4276 4 bolt trying to run you down!! The only rule that I know Scot will not bend on, and I dont blame him is the A/C rule. A "true" street Buick IMHO will have the A/C and heater box in place, Some people may disagree.... What you will see in this class is the drag radial cars will have the ET advantage but the Stage cars will definately have the MPH advantage, so there is a give and take to everything. Can't wait to see this unfold at Reynolds in the 1/4 mile.
Example:
2.5 / 2 = radials / drag radials
3 / 2 = radials / drag radials
3 / 2.5 = radials only
4 / 2.5 = radials only
4 / 3 = radials only
etc...
