Don't waste your $$$ on this movie. 2 1/2 hours of my life I won't get back. Maybe it is because I am 53 but all movies seem so predictable to me lately. Should have seen Couples Retreat instead, I am sure that was good for a few laughs.

I thought the 2012 thing was more religion based ... now I am realizing its something to do with the Earth's reaction to things? Hmmm ---

The Mayan's predicted the end of the world based on their calendar in 2012. Considering the civilization is gone I think they missed it by about a thousand years. Just another reason to claim global warming is real. I'm with Mark on this one. ;)

John Cusack has never matched his performance as the suicidal kid in "Better Off Dead."

Havn't seen the movie, looks too unrealistic and drama based from the commercials and reviews. I have to admit though, I have done a bunch of research this year and there seems to be a lot of things happening in the universe that may effect the Earth. Cosmological events like the suns magnetic poles reversing and the earths axis changing as a result, also planetary alignments leading to a 3 day solar eclipse. Time will tell I guess.

I havent done that much research on it (seen a couple of tv shows), but its funny that the mayans and a couple of other sources basically say its the end in 2012 . If it ends so be it, but I would like to get my car running by then at least . I guess I shouldnt pay any of my bills and sink the money into the Buick instead ;), but if it doesnt end I'm screwed for the rest of my life :mad;. If the earths axis does decide to change I think we are all screwed.

The Mayan 2012 calander does not predict any ending...It's simply the end of one cycle and the beginning of the next. Much like our calander rolls over each millenium. The whole world ending according to the mayans is very much hoopla and hollywood hype. As for the planet alignment, that already happened in May 5th of 2000 and all the crazies predicted the end of the world then too. Do some real research and quit reading the Enquirer :D

Oh, and as for the sun's pole reversal....Happens about every 11 years.

, I have my sources . Get your coolant leak fixed? :D

I heard it was awful as well. It doesnt even seem Red Box worthy.... What a shame. So much hype for nada.

If the Mayans were so smart how come they were living on dirt floors and wiping their backsides with dead monkey tails?

Only the planets lined up. This time they align all the way into the dark rift inside the milky way to the point of sagatarius's (sp) arrow, along with the peak of the suns solar activity. Will it cause a gravitational frequency shift?..dunno but the end of this 26k yr cycle completes earths wobble, pretty smart math for a bunch of hethens living on dirt floors, using only their eyeballs to stare off into space. prolly just be another tricky day and nothing else.

And couples retreat was pretty funny in spots. worth taking the wife for a good night out.

'Fraid not.....Not even close. For a very good read that debunks all the psuedo science and myths out there:

There was a movie in the late 70s (maybe earyly 80s called) "The Day After"
That move freaked me out because it was realistic. It sucked you into thinking it could happen.
When i seen the previews for 2012 I just shook my head. With everything thats going on today, They had a great opportunity to freak people out and instead it looks like a cheesy unrealistic action flick.

That was a scary movie because we were living through those times with the cold war and Russia looming as our nuclear nemesis. I think it starred Jason Robards.
