these new super cars are made to do everything- go, turn, stop- and do it with the driver in noise free air conditioned comfort while getting 20+ mpg... once you start making 700hp or more with them, you have to decide what you want it to do, because it's not going to be able to do everything. if you keep the 19" wheels on it, you'll never get traction off the line. if you swap on some taller slicks in the back and skinnies up front with shocks to plant the tires off the line, then it won't turn or stop worth a crap. and if you do get it to where you can harness the power to the ground, then you need to start adding things like roll cages, safety harnesses, parachutes, fire suppression systems, blow proof bellhousings, and all sorts of other goodies that take the day to day usefulness out of them.
there is an article in the new Hot Rod that i just picked up today where they compare the new ZL1 Camaro and Shelby GT500 in the real world. side by side at the same time. pick it up- or just read it at the news stand.. it's an interesting read..
trust me its not just 12k on top of the price tag to go 9's.
