3 bar map sensor problem

I am installing a 3 bar map sensor for my alky kit the sensor is a new one from rock auto. ok when i plug in the 3 bar car runs like crap but with the 2 bar all is good. I recall years ago that we had to swap 2 wires on some of the buicks (turbo car's) I can't find any info on this anywhere also the car is a 86 analog car any help would appreciated thanks
