With a 3200 stall nl art carr converter , what would be the biggest size turbo I could run with it ? My motor is a 235 ci , with ported gn1 heads , 206 roller cam , 3.50 rear gears , 9 inch ford rear , 28 inch tall drag radial , alky control kit , 72 # injectors , fast xfi current turbo is a te45a. Looking to put this car in the high 9's without running a ton of boost. I would like to stay around 30#s or less. I know the art carr isnt the best choice as a converter goes but I would like to use what I have till I swap to a turbo 400 with a brake and ptc converter. Can 9's be achieved with what I have with a bigger turbo ? Thanks

6466 or 6766. Plenty turbo for the 9's without needing a lot of stall speed. Bison may have something that will work well.

The n stall art carr converters are too loose to couple any of the potential of the smaller turbos if you're looking for 9 sec power. You need to build an engine that operates between 5800 and 6500 if you're using that converter because that's the flash stall you will expect with high 9 sec power with that converter. Usually the converter is selected for the combo and the combo isn't built around it. I the past I saw a lot of large cover 70 to 76 turbos with 68mm turbines using tang t4 turbos to run high 9's with an AC.

Isnt there 2 types of art carr converters ? I am not sure which one I have but I do know its around 10 years old. Which converter is better the newer ones or the older ones. If I pull the trans shield I can inspect it for a part # thanks for the help.
