Will this tire fit on a 17 X 9.5 rim or do I need to go wider? Will this tire fit on the rear of a Gn without modding the frame rails, just rolling the lip a little?

That tire has a 14.8 inch section width. I have 11.8 section width on my 295's and they line up right on the fender lip and are about a 1/2 an inch from the frame.
There is no way to get more in there without it sticking out like a 1978 trans am with slicks on it.

So at the least mini tubs, fender lip removal, fender flares, and 11.5" to 13" custom rims. It was nice to dream. This doesn't even take into account the new rear end gears due to the larger diameter tire. The Gn would have looked tuff with the tire.
