4.1 Block Build Question

I just scored an 84 4.1 complete motor (w/rolled fillet crank ) at a salvage yard for $200. My question is... When I take the block to the machine shop, what should I have them do to it? The area shops aren't to knowledgable on Buicks.

Also, what about the crank?

theres some good 4.1 build info on gnttype.org. i had mine magged, tanked, and i may have it sonic checked later but the jury's still out on that. id mag the crank at least.

4.1 block

Make sure you have the deck surface checked for cracks the factory 4.1 blocks are very prone to cracks at the head bolt area.

Take it to Ron Williams. Can't remember if he's in Hattiesburg or Jackson, but he used to build all of Lee Howie's customers motors when Lee was in Jackson. He knows Buicks.
