I also wanted to slowdown the violent rush of torque just off the line. With the smaller housing and my relativly loose converter, I would launch at around 5psi, and blow the tires about 10ft from the line. Now I can leave at 10psi, and the spoolup matches the traction I have. 60' dropped from 1.64 to 1.51. That was a portion of my gain in ET. I also saw 2 1/2 mph gain from switching housings. I thought is was $100 well spent. I was able to squeeze the housing on, without removing my turbo. I left the compressor inlet, and the oil lines on. Quick to change, evenn at the track. Try a run, then swap. Don't forget to add some anti-seize to the turbine housing boltz. While the housing is new, and clean. Take the time to coat the housing. I like "Thermal tech", in Hopewell,VA. They have a high temp coating called turboX. Also have a silver, shiney coating, but a little less heat resistant.
