4L60 - 4L80 Question

Car has a 4l60.
Can it be replaced with a 4l80?
Will the electronics work?

Is it a 4l60 or 4l60E? The E would require very similar electronics as the 4L80. I believe the 4l80 is based off the 400, so it might need a different trans mount and driveshaft changes.

I had asked Len about this swap about a year or so ago. I wanted to change out the 4L60 in my truck and replace it with the 4L80. I didn't do it yet and I don't remember exactly what he had told me. I don't recall talking about wireing or mounts, if I recall correctly we talked about overdrive and transbrake application or lack there of...

what electronics are you using. There are a few tricks when going from a 4L60 to a 4l80E.
