600 - 650 hp, which convertor w/anti-balloon feature

I don"t think the conv. I have now can handle 650hp. without balloning and ...wiping my engine out .....what conv. with anti-balloon should I get. I will also be using a JW flywheel.

Its a dacco , 10" n/lu , el cheapo ...........250.00 new ...ran in my practically stock motor, afraid to use it in new build .I know I"ll need a stronger conv. ............I need help choosing the right one.

You'll probably get a few different opinions on this one. Just as a basis to go by, I am currently running an AC 9" n/l. I'm not sure how much hp my car is putting out but I'd say in race mode it's probably around 550-600 or so. I can easily foot brake 3600(+) rpms on radials and on slicks I've launched at as much as 4200. Car seems REAL responsive just normal driving. I have no experience with any other convertors so I can't comment on them. BTW You better have a strong well built tranny to hold up realiabily at that hp level. HTH Randall
