ragtops have all gone crazy... an allways will especially rare cars.. are they worth it??? hell ya to someone with the $$$:D

A buddy has a '70 Chevelle SS 396 and it had a bench seat/column shift. Anyway, I believe he once told me that if you look at the paint code it more or less states "maroon with maroon stripes!" Obviously, it has no stripes, but I thought that was kinda funny!

Please don't flame me for this but what makes that car so special? I know some old car stuff but I am no expert. I know there are some musclecars that go for a pretty penny but damn, $145,000+?! I rather ask you guys than look it up for myself. I've seen Superbirds and GSX's etc. go for alot but not like this car. Please be in detail.

I believe the reason for the price is the rarity, now its been quite a while since I've looked thru a Chevelle RPO book but if I'm not mistaken there were only something like 21 convert LS6's made so that puts them in quite a rare category.

HTH

Yes these are truly rare with original paperwork (proving its real) There was a light blue conv ls6 Chevelle in the Philly area that was frame off and went for $120k about 4 years ago.

Wow, I kinda understand but I would never pay that much for a car that people would kill me if I drove it. I rather buy some supercar and get the looks w/ it and I would be able to drive it and not get flamed. I wouldn't feel so bad if I wrecked the Lambo or whatever compared to that Chevelle. Don't get me wrong though, I would still be P.O.'ed! ;) I just like driving my cars instead of having a car show in my garage 365 days of the year. Well that is just my humble opinion.

1970 LS-6 Convertible

I have heard of one of these rare puppies that was burnt to a crisp. This occurred about 15 years ago.

It turns out the car was in an upholstery shop in Hamilton Twp. (New Jersey) getting a new top installed and while the car sat in the shop overnight, a devastating fire destroyed everything in it.
The car was nothing but a shell and I'm not sure if it was ever salvaged.

the car was a ragtop... not many made (RARE) .. sooooooo some people want them an will pay all the $$$ an then some.... a 1970 ish Cudu hemi convert went for over $1 mil on ebay a while back.. there are some people that want somethin rare figurin the prices will go up faster than a reg car (396 Chevelle) ... to each thier own..:D

Hey Frank, there was a light blue LS6 conv. at the Fox Run car show in Delaware Saturday. Maybe it is the car you're talking about. Don't know if it was real, but it sure was purty.

was it light blue with dark blue top and interior?? If so thats gotta be it..

Frank
