I have installed an 85 regal t-type motor into my 85 chevy s-10 with a 700R4. The plugs are different-does anyone know how I can tie this together. Thanx:confused:

I can maybe help

TCi makes an adapter plate to mate the buick engine to a 700r4.Check out ther site for more info.

the tranny is all together and working already

I am only talking about the connector on the side of the tranny. It works already, just never plugged it in.;)

   The original S-10 plug in connector is a three pin it is keyed differently than the buick. The buick is a four pin. Does this help... Please this may not make a difference to the truck just want to plug it in it is drivving me nuts.

I am waiting.

This ought to be good!!!! When and if you ever figure out a way to plug it in.....All the good stuff will start.
ALL the connections are different. Even when, and IF you get it plugged in , it may not lock up, OR it may lock all the time. It may even blow every fuse in the dang car. ONLY way to do this is to drop pan and hard wire. You will have to connect every piece as a one of type set up. The 700 uses different ports and sensors and you can do it but a complete rewire will be necessary.

This is about to get real good!!! Plug that sucker in!!!!!!

Hey Bruce,

Please pass the popcorn. :p

Actually, you're virtually assured a lock-up problem if you simply plug that sucker in. The 700-R4 was built with over 20 different wiring schematics over the years; none of them fully compatible with a turbo Buick.

I'd pull the pan and rewire that thing including the installation of 2 normally-closed pressure switches.

Man, you two just crack me up!!! :D The funniest thing is, is that I could see you two sitting in lawn chairs eating the popcorn, drinking a couple of brews, snickering to each other, the whole time while cturboaddict is underneath his S10 cussing and a'rewiring and a'cussin some more...

cturboaddict, I hope that you do finally get something figured out...Driving a Buick is different enough, even with buying parts for it, and the parts counter people saying "huh??" and "you want a what???" all the time...I'm sure once it's running right, it'll make what you're going through right now worth it...Oh and btw, why did you use a 700-r4 and not a 200-4r??? Is this a 4x4 S10???

Lots a luck...

Later...

Believe it or not ..We can help you..

What is really scary is that is "Exactly" how I was picturing it when I wrote it. The fact that Greg got the same "vibe" or "picture" is hilarious!!!

Sitting in a Lawn chair across the street....I ask the wife ....."Honey, please bring me my cell phone..... I may need to call Fire Dept and Rescue here in a sec.... Sit down ... pull up a chair... this ought to be good!!!!" :D
Was my thought.

ADMISSION IS 5 DOLLARS????

You guys have me crackin up. Is it even worth plugging it in or should I leave it unplugged. And yes it is 4x4. Dont have the driveshaft hooked up though. (Not enough vaccuum) . You guys are starting to worry me about this. The tranny right now kind of shifts backwards- Hard at light throttle and soft at hard throttle. Any info helps. :D

Running a 700 without a functioning lock-up? That could be even worse than plugging it in and watching the fireworks.

S-10 wiring is easy. Positive lead of the solenoid goes to the A terminal. Ground lead from the solenoid to the D terminal. There are no other switches to worry about. That's it. Switch the connector in the trans case to the 3 terminal style. Plug it in and burn rubber man.

Finally an answer.

Sounds great man will give it a shot this weekend. when you say pos and neg terminals are you talking about the buick lines or the s-10 lines

Positive lead of the lock-up solenoid in the trans pan to the A terminal of the case connector (transmission side). Negative lead from the lockup solenoid to the D terminal of the case connector (transmission side). Leave the vehicle harness and connector alone. Simple way is to remove the pan of your old trans and remove the lockup solenoid and wiring harness and case connector and move it over to your new trans. Make sure the solenoid and harness are in working shape.

Don? He is going from a TR trans to a 700 I think. They are different , aren't they? I have never put a 200 tcc in a 700. Will it work? I always do the opposite but never that way.
I was really looking forward to the fireworks tho.....:(

Hell Don, pull up a chair , I think there still may be time!;)

My instructions still apply. You just can't use anything from the 200.

thanx

I will look it over this weekend and maybe give it a shot. Will let everyone know what happened.
