'84 - '85 Hood insulation pad wanted

Any folks in North Eastern US or Canada who have new/used hood insulation pad for the hot air GNs, and willing to sell, send me a PM or email @ phil@zynetonline.com.

Currently rebuilding engine (72nd GN ever built) so car will not be mobile until May. Shipping costs probably horendous so will drive to North Eastern US or Canada.

I just bought a new one from GM not long ago.You may want to check there I think it was like $75.

84/85 hard to find - thanx

Thanx for the reply. I have tried a couple of dealerships here in Canada and they all say 84/85 discontinued. One of my buddies with an 86 just bought a new one from GM for $285 (Cdn) so you can still buy from GM for 86/87.

The problem is the depression in the pad for the turbo. I could buy the 86/87 pad and depress the back where the 84/85 turbo sits but it would look funny with the factory depression up front for the 86/87 turbo positioning.

The org's with writing is no longer availiable from GM. They do however have a plain hood mat from what I hear and thats just for 86-87 cars. I have 2) mint 84-85 hot-air NOS pads and one that has some snags on the felt from being taken out of the box. They are not cheap.! Whens the last time you saw NOS hot air hood pads anywhere?

I have one off a 85 in great shape and not all tore up if the other deal does not work out. Just let me know if you would be interested. It will not be cheap but I will not rip you off either.

Well after some thought I am wanting to sell the hood with it also. The hood is in good shape. I will get some pics this week for ya. I am thinking somewhere around 300 for the hood pad and hood plus shipping. Let me know

I really appreciate all of the responses. I just want to let you all know that I am still deciding what to do. There is one in Toronto Canada which is only a 4 to 5 hour drive. Price, distance, condition all count. Will decide soon and will PM various folks.
