Hi everyone,

Just picked up a 84 GN project car that I am looking to restore. I have a couple questions on the interior.
This GN has a brown/maroon interior with black carpet installed. Pretty sure that's not an option/thing for 84 GNs, right?
Someone did a pretty thorough job swapping all the interior trim pieces to maroon and then spray painted it black. Which is now flaking off everywhere. My face gets covered in black paint flakes if I drive with the windows down.

I found some older threads on the 84 interior, but there are very old and many of the links are broken to the pictures.

Anyone happen to have a good reference pictures for an 84 interior? Or possibly a donor interior with the correct colors?

Pulled this info from another thread:
the colors used in an 84 GN are Sand and Slate...
Sand:
door panels, up/low
pillar trim
carpet
console
headliner trim
rear up/low quarter panel interior trim
seat hinge cover trim

Slate:
Dash
steering wheel (column and parts)
rear package tray
upper dash speaker bezel panel

Thanks!

I would suggest looking up cars for sale on Hemmings, bring a trailer, mecum, barrett-jackson, etc for prime examples of original cars. usually these sites have tons of pics showing everything you're looking for. Noticed that there are no '84's currently listed for sale on Hemmings.

in the cars for sale section here, there's an 84 with some good pics. link below.

Time for some internet image searches.

that gn was my buddy kevins car , he just sold it last week
the interior was as it came in the gn except the black carpet... easier to keep clean than the sand grey

Thanks for the post with the pictures, very helpful. Google searches turned up many GNs that were mislabeled as 84 for some reason but were clearly a different year. Checking out the auction sites is a great idea, I will spend some time looking there too.
Here is a picture of my 84 interior

You can see the brown painted black trim in the door jam area. Door panels and center console are very different them the above pictures. Does not have the unique 84 lear seats either.

I was trying to check the RPO codes for the trim color too and some are a bit confusing.
609 SEAT BELT COLOR, MED COGNAC (91)
19L SECONDARY COLOR, EXTERIOR, LAMP BLACK (91)
19U PRIMARY COLOR, EXTERIOR, LAMP BLACK (91)
60H TRIM COMBINATION, CLOTH, LT DRIFTWOOD (H)
60I INTERIOR TRIM, MED COGNAC (91)

Cognac trim? let me know if I got those codes wrong.
