i replaced my 84 Grand national engine with a stock replacement, every time i turn the car over it turns over but keep blowing fuel pump fuses, I dont think I'm getting fire either??????suggestions anyone

Not sure about an 84, but on my 87 the fuel pump test lead behind the alternator arched out on my brake line and blew the fuse.

did you first ....

prime the oil pump so that you are building oil pressure? It could be part of the no spark condition. As far as the fuel pump fuse, does it clear when you turn the key to "on" or while it is cranking? To help isolate the problem, you can disconnect the fuel pump at the rear bumper and turn it over to see if the fuse clears. if not, the problem may be w/the pump overheating or shorted.(or out of gas) If it still clears, check the fuel pump relay and wiring for damage, but first disconnect the f/p relay and try to start the engine again to see if it clears yet again. If it clears again the problem is between the fuse block and the relay. Hope this helps?

thanks fellas, keep it coming i have not got it running yet it i can blowing fuel pump fuses, i narrowed it down to, its something to with the coil pack. if i unplug one of the plugs it will not blow but plug it back up blow the fuse.....

Remove the coilpack from the ignition module and verify the spade connectors on the coil do not short the circuit in the module. :frown:

You may also want to disconnect the injector harness and power the car up.
If it does not blow the fuse something may be shorted in this circuit.
