I am doing a 86-87 conversion on my 85 t type. I have heads with 25518445 casting numbers on them. Are these heads the exact same as the 86-87 heads? I read somethings saying they were, but I always here the 86-87 head flows better than the 84-85 head.

Is the only difference in the 86-87 valve covers the hole in the passenger side for the breather? Has anyone used the 84-85 ones and just drilled a hole and bought the grommet?

The heads are identical in flow. They are all machined from the same castings. The heads they replaced (6293) flow the same also.

there is a small diffrence in the pass side cover-----on the 86/87 cover there is a baffle just behind the breather hole-----you could cut a hole to add the breather but without this baffle i am sure a lot of oil would find its way into the turbo--------it's bad enough with the baffle in place............RC
