Can I upgrade to a short block or long block from 86/87 and put the 85 intake and other stuff on it?

What is the 109 engine , best casting?

Yes to all your questions. Except that the strongest block would be an on-center StageII Buick Motorsport block. At least from Buick anyway.

ok, the 109 block would be the best to build for street use? bored, stock crank?

How about heads, needing to run w/my 85 HA intake and exhaust...
