Just out of curiousity what would a complete drivetrain/trans/rearend? and all the parts needed to convert an older buick to GN Cost realistically?? say a 78 skylark v6 ?? And are they readily available?? Moz/Gary

ALL the parts needed...How far do you wanna go?

just buy one. way cheaper in the long run.

If you want just the drivetrain, then find a wrecked one and canibalize it. Might be able to do it for 3000-5000... guestimate

Bruce at PTS has a complete 87 T-Type with complete set up with a good running engine. Trans needs to be rebuilt, but is a good brf core. It is complete with all electronics, wiring harness, and all needed for a change over or a swap. Give him a call if you wish (916)739-0510

Cost

My first deal was a complete car with drivetrain and cost $2500, the transmission was broke but I fixed it for $48. The car had a bad paint job. I stripped it and sold just the body for $500. And I still have the rearend, wheels and tires.

My second deal was just an engine, transmission and wiring harness for $1200.

My third deal was a smashed car with good complete drivetrain for $2300.

Other Parts

PS - my website has a breakdown of all the parts and costs I put into doing a swap, so that will help you get an idea of the costs of doing a swap yourself, depending on the mods.
